When you sign up to use the Sofalive Platform as a Client or a Counsellor, the personal information we collect may include your name, address, email address, telephone number and if you are a Client, the contact details of a third party to contact if there are concerns for your safety or the safety of others. We do not store Clients’ bank details.  All payments you make are through PayPal and all information collected by us is encrypted and protected with the following software 128 Bit encryption on SSL.

If you are a Counsellor, the personal information we collect is your name, address, email, telephone number and all relevant document to verify your suitability to use the Sofalive Platform.   We will need and use your PayPal email address to pay you.

How we use your information

If you are a Client, we will use your name and email address to confirm payment and to send you the direct link to access your counselling session/s whether by voice or video call.

If you have consented, we may send you information of promotions and our newsletter.

If you are a Counsellor, we will use your personal information to verify your status to use the Platform and to communicate via email and/or phone, all relevant information you need to know.

Who has access to your personal information


Counsellors you book will not have access to your personal details unless as detailed below in our Compliance with Laws and Law Enforcement.

We will not sell or rent your information to third parties.

We will not share your information with third parties for marketing or any other purposes.

We are legally bound to share your personal information if a Court of Law requests the information we hold.


Clients have no access to your personal information unless in the case outlined below in our Compliance with Laws and Law Enforcement.

The personal information you provide will be available to authorised personnel of Sofalive Limited who will need to access the information in order to do their roles.

We comply with the law and will disclose personal information if requested by a Court of Law.


As part of each Counsellor’s therapeutic diligence, you should be aware that Counsellors may be obliged to disclose information to law enforcement or other authorities to conform to their professional and legal responsibilities.  If this arises we will give your personal information to the Counsellor.

Specifically, and without limitation, you should be aware that the law requires mental health professionals to disclose information and/or take action in the following cases: (a) reported or suspected abuse of a child or vulnerable adult; (b) serious suicidal potential; (c) threatened harm to another person; (d) court-ordered presentation of treatment.

We may disclose information, including Personal Information, to take precautions against liability.

Session Content

Your sessions will not be recorded by Sofalive Limited. All discussions are within the exclusive domain of your chosen Counsellor who is bound by their Governing Body’s code of ethics. We may at our discretion contact you for feedback as to the service you are receiving from your Counsellor.

Our website it intended for adults aged 18 years and above except when sessions have been booked for under 18’s through a parent or guardian.
